A useful music prompt gives the generator a direction without turning the request into a wall of conflicting instructions. Start with the musical goal, then add only the details that truly matter.
Start with the purpose of the song
Say what the track is for before listing production details. A birthday song, advertising jingle, cinematic instrumental and demo for a singer need very different structures.
Describe sound, not a copyrighted recording
Use genre, instrumentation, tempo, mood, vocal character and arrangement language. Describe the qualities you want instead of asking for a copy of a specific protected recording.

- Mood and energy
- Key instruments
- Vocal preference
- Tempo or pacing
- Verse, chorus or instrumental structure
Keep the important constraints together
If the vocal must be female, the track must be instrumental, or your lyrics must stay unchanged, make that requirement explicit. Too many secondary adjectives can make the important instruction less clear.
Generate, compare and refine
Treat the first prompt as a starting point. Compare the versions, identify the one or two elements that need improvement and change only those on the next generation.
